Charley Rawlings (they/them)
Who am I?
I’m a fat, nonbinary advocate doing my best to learn, grow and build community.
I live in Seattle with my fur (and scale) babies and love to take trips to new parks and restaurants around the city. I love being by the ocean and in the mountains, they’re the places I feel the most grounded and connected. They’re also one of the main reasons I moved back to the PNW.
What do I do?
Passionate about advocacy and social justice, I have dedicated over a decade to working in the nonprofit and social services sectors in primarily outreach and community-building roles.
As I have navigated my life and its ups and downs, I’ve been able to identify my priorities which can be represented by these concepts:
Community
Empathy & Compassion
Learning & Personal Growth
Intentionality
These ideas drive everything I do as I work on myself, identifying what’s important to me and figure out what I want to do.
After a lot of searching, I recently decided to pursue my MSW at University of Washington. I’m so excited to be a part of the 2025 Cohort and dive deeper into the intersectionality between mental health care, community and harm reduction.
I’m looking forward to seeing how my experience in digital communications and social services can shape my career in positive ways.
